Current Business Leaders supporting the growth of Future Leaders

The Business Voices Initiative (BVI) is your opportunity to be a voice for the next generation

By connecting BNI members and local businesses with schools and educational programs, BVI helps bridge the gap between what students need and what schools can provide.

Business Voices is a BNI Foundation initiative that mobilizes local businesspeople to support schools and charities through practical, non-cash contributions like supplies, mentorship, and volunteering. It connects the business community to real educational needs to make an immediate, local impact.

HOW YOU CAN CREATE CHANGE!

Whether you’re a business owner, a professional, or simply someone who wants to give back, your time and contributions can make a meaningful difference. When you get involved with the Business Voices Initiative, you’re not just helping students—you’re shaping the future of our communities.

Join us in creating lasting change through education. Let’s show our children that their voices matter—and that ours are here to lift them up.

Examples of Business Voices Initiative Success Stories

Technology Donation – Galaxy Tablet for 12 Buckets

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: January 2025

Cameron Rule, a member of BNI Evolution (Perth, WA), generously donated a brand-new Galaxy Tablet during the holiday period. This device was passed on to 12 Buckets, a local organisation supporting young people through mentoring and wellbeing programs.

The tablet will support a student’s learning journey by providing access to digital resources at home or in a structured mentoring environment. A small act with a big ripple—this is Business Voices in action.

Education Supply Drive & Stationery Kits – Balga Primary School

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: February 2025

Through our Business Voices Initiative, students at Balga Primary School received essential stationery kits just in time for the new school year. This meaningful project was made possible by the BNI Evergreen Chapter, whose members contributed pre-packed education kits or individual supplies as part of a chapter-wide donation drive.

The result? Dozens of students started school with the resources they needed — and the school leadership shared how much this support meant to their wellbeing and confidence. A beautiful example of what happens when local business leaders give where they live.

Refurbished Laptops for Students – Grandcarers WA

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: May 2025

BNI member Peter Trenaman (GroupSupport IT Solutions, BNI Evergreen) teamed up with his technician Josh and a generous client to refurbish three used laptops for families supported by Grandcarers WA. The client even covered the cost of hard drive upgrades, allowing the laptops to be fully restored and delivered ready for student use.

This project is a brilliant example of how BNI members can leverage their professional skills and networks to meet real-world educational needs.

Sports Gear for Active Kids – Carole Park State School

State: Queensland
Month Completed: May 2025

In the lead-up to the BNI National Conference 2025, BNI chapters from across Brisbane and the Gold Coast united to raise funds for a special Business Voices project: supporting Carole Park State School with much-needed sporting equipment.

The school, located in a community experiencing disadvantage, had limited access to sports resources — making it difficult for students to fully participate in physical education and outdoor play. Understanding the importance of movement, teamwork, and confidence-building for young learners, BNI members stepped up in a big way.

Chapters collaborated to run fundraising drives, raising over $8,000 in total. This enabled the purchase of:

  • Full sports ball packs (soccer, AFL, basketball, volleyball, netball)
  • Sports accessory kits (jump ropes, field markers, hoops, cricket gear)
  • And a significant contribution toward a new high jump mat

The project was delivered in time for National Conference week, with local donors and Foundation representatives visiting the school to hand over the equipment in person — and witness the joy on students’ faces.

This was a powerful example of Business Voices in action: local chapters giving back to local schools, creating lasting impact for children in their own community.

Gazebos & Kitchen Upgrade – Waddington Primary School

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: August 2025

At Waddington Primary School, the breakfast club runs five days a week — providing more than just a meal. It’s a vital community hub where students, parents, teachers, and volunteers connect in a nurturing space. During a recent visit, 12 students and three parents gathered over breakfast, chatting about everything from learning goals to lunch prep.

When the school shared they needed two new gazebos to accommodate their growing student body and outdoor events, as well as a reliable oven for their student kitchen program, BNI Unite rose to the challenge. In just one day, the chapter raised $790 to support the project.

To complete the full cost, the BNI Foundation Australia contributed the remaining amount—demonstrating the power of Givers Gain® in action. A brand-new oven will now help launch a student cooking program, bringing practical life skills into the classroom and beyond.

Whiteboards for Every Student – Balga Primary School (Community Connect Business Expo)

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: August 2025

At the Community Connect Business Expo in Perth, the BNI Foundation Australia hosted a stand to raise awareness about our mission — but what happened next exceeded all expectations.

We invited attendees to donate just $7 to fund a student whiteboard for Balga Primary School, and wow — did the community deliver! In just one day, we raised $910, with dozens of local businesspeople and community members stepping up to support kids in need.

To bring the project home, the BNI Foundation topped up the remaining funds, allowing us to purchase 220 brand-new student whiteboards, markers, and erasers — enough for every student at the school.

This Business Voices initiative was a powerful reminder that small contributions, when multiplied, can transform classrooms. Thank you to everyone who visited the stand, gave generously, and helped make learning more engaging for every child at Balga.

Tech for Learning – Refurbished Computers for Local Charities

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: September 2025 (in progress)

Two BNI businesses — Downtime Assassin and GroupSupport IT Solutions — recently teamed up to deliver a powerful Business Voices project that will directly support children’s access to technology for education.

  • Downtime Assassin donated 8 refurbished desktop computers
  • GroupSupport contributed keyboards, monitors, and mice to complete the sets

So far, four full setups have been delivered to Grandcarers WA, and one has been donated to 12 Buckets, a mentoring organisation that works with vulnerable young people. The remaining three computers are scheduled for delivery in the coming weeks.

This joint project is a brilliant example of what happens when BNI members collaborate with purpose — transforming surplus office equipment into real-world educational impact.

Together, we’re helping children and families gain access to the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive.

Stationary Supply Drive – North Balga Primary School

State: Western Australia
Month Completed: February 2026

In February 2026, members from BNI Coastal Sands partnered with Sagar Kadam from Commercial Stationery Office National in Wangara to deliver a Business Voices Project supporting students at North Balga Primary School. Together, they donated 25 stationery packs to help equip students with essential learning tools.

This simple yet impactful initiative ensures students have what they need to participate fully in their education—demonstrating how local businesses and BNI members can come together to create meaningful change in their community. 💛
